Just saw The Northman and was inspired to create something that existed within the period and raided the shed for an item to create.
An anglo saxon lenticular shield I recently created as a 1 (and a half) day prop study, trying to achieve a game-ready asset that is as close to the real item as possible. You can see the reference I used in the images included here. This shield was made and created by my father as part of our re-enactment society Regia Anglorum.

There are a few authenticity issues here, especially with the patches, but this shield is quite old at this point and the only reason I chose this prop was because of how gorgeous the weathering is.
The Textures are a single 4k texture set, and the model itself is under 3,000 triangles.
There was no photogrammetry as part of this process but I will experiment with it in the future.
The textures are all hand painted with some photographed images as bases for the leather and canvas.
Loved this prop and I hope to do more in the future.
